Mike, along with his wife (Sherri), has been involved with the local Scottish Heritage scene for a couple dozen years. We attended our first Scottish Festival less than a month after getting married and were surprised to find that our Clan was not represented in the Clan Village or March of the Clans.
The following year, we hosted our first meager Clan Tent as the official State of Utah representatives of Clan MacIntyre Association with our daughter who was barely 2 months old. Over the 20+ years since that first tent, we have worked to become a well respected Clan in the Clan Village of our local games and have made many friends. Our children have grown up with Scottish Festivals being a tradition.
Mike's involvement in the Scottish community has grown beyond just hosting the Clan Tent. Siblings and their families have been called in to assist Sherri in the clan booth as Mike found opportunities to serve on the board for the Utah Scottish Association, first as a general board member, then as Vice President of the Utah Scottish Association and Chairman of the Festival Committee.
Moving to Reno, NV caused a short hiatus in Mike and Sherri's ability to host the clan tent, but this tradition was kept up by Mike's mother (Carole) and several of his siblings.
Mike and Sherri currently reside in Cache Valley and are once again hosting the Clan Tent at local Utah festivals. Mike is also serving on the national board for Clan MacIntyre Association. His current title is Vice President for Programs.
We are sad that the opportunity to visit with you in person at our clan booth is not available at this difficult time. We anxiously look forward to future festivals where the full hospitality of our Clan Tent can be enjoyed.
