Upon arrival at Harvard Gulch Park, it instantly reminded me of my favorite park back home. From its lively and energetic feel to its calming scenery, it brought me right back to where I went almost every week to relax and unwind.
After doing hours of homework in the library earlier that day, the long walk to the park was already removing all the stress from the work I had to do. It put me in a state of mind where, when I arrived at the park, I could stroll around and really take in all of the gorgeous scenery and everything around me.
The path my friend and I took to enter the park was right off the sidewalk, and quickly went from residential to a beautiful and peaceful park. Walking in, I noticed first how amazing the trees were, from the amount of shade they provided to just how visually appealing they were. I heard the sound of a distant lawn mower across the park, and I could smell the freshly cut grass.
There were a couple of golden retrievers playing fetch right next to the pond, which looked exactly like mine at home, that I bring to play at a park just like this one.
The sounds of balls being hit, birds chirping, and the slight breeze under a shaded tree made me feel at ease and were precisely what I needed to unwind in the evening after a long day.
