Past warm periods as analogs for future sea-level rise
Hello! I'm a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Santa Cruz, working in Prof. Christina Ravelo's Paleoceanography Lab. I study how polar ice sheets and ocean circulation have changed over millions of years, using sediment cores collected from the deep seafloor. My work reconstructs when ice sheets retreated, what triggered it, and how quickly it happened, all questions that help constrain how much sea level may rise in the coming century, and how fast.
My NSF postdoc fellowship is focused on reconstructing North Atlantic ocean circulation and iceberg discharge variability during the early Pleistocene, drawing on core material from International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 395, on which I sailed as a sedimentologist in 2023.
I received my Ph.D. from Columbia University in 2026, where my dissertation examined the evolution of the Antarctic Ice Sheet over the Plio-Pleistocene using IODP Expedition 382 cores from Antarctica's "Iceberg Alley."
I completed my B.S. in Environmental Geosciences (major) and Economics (minor) at Boston College in 2018. In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking, and photography.
