8 - 12 participants, two months, all ages and backgrounds gather together to design and build a tiny house from the ground up. Learn how to create together and become part of a community.
In the nature of Furudal, Dalarna, Sweden we strip away the noise of everyday life to build an existence based on trust and empowerment. At this event, organized by Community Lab, we coexist alongside four different camps that will cross paths during shared gatherings and at a small festival-type gathering from 13-17th of August where friends and family are also welcome. This gives us the opportunity to learn from other passionate souls in their respective fields, just as we meet to share what we are most passionate about.
Even though the goal is a finished tiny house, the true journey happens between us participants. We follow no set blueprint; instead, by living and working outside society’s conventional boundaries, we allow the project to emerge organically - We’ll start designing together online beforehand, then dive into communal workshops on-site. It is an open exploration where the end result is yet to be discovered.
25th of June - 25th of August, 2026
Furudal in Dalarna, Sweden
We believe the buildings of the future should look a lot more like the landscapes they sit in. We’re calling this "future-primitive" where our goal of using the "primitive" wisdom of traditional, local materials and design methods merges with the "future" potential of innovative technology to move the built environment back toward Earth’s natural rhythms.
The intention is to build a prototype that doesn't just sit on the land; it’s an amphibious, modular mobile tiny home, a self-contained boat, and a "plug-in" piece for a larger permanent Earthship. It’s adaptive, climate-resilient, and designed to move with the world.
The Goal: Build a modular, scalable tiny home that functions as a boat, a trailer, and a permanent dwelling component.
The Vibe: A living laboratory focused on intentional relational arts, sociocratic experimentation, and regenerative boundary-pushing design.
We are looking for collaborators who want to bridge the gap between creative technology, physical construction, and relational experiments.
You’ll be joining a group skilled in:
Engineering & Energy Optimization
Architectural Design & Construction
Filmmaking, Photography & Digital Arts
Sociocracy & Community Organizing
Emotional Intelligence & Relational Arts
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never explored these topics before - We are looking for people that have passion and curiosity in learning these topics, as well as teaching and integrating whatever skills you have to Tiny Home Camp and the greater eco-village.
Building a small community and a physical house in just two months requires more than just a signup — it requires dedication.
To ensure the success of the group and the feasibility of the project, we work with a mutual commitment. In other words, this is a binding registration. We are building a team where every person is an invaluable link.
When you sign and pay the fee of ca 5 000 SEK♂♀ (around $544 USD), we are counting on your presence, your energy, and your unique knowledge during the agreed period.
Each participant is responsible for their own basic equipment (tent, sleeping bag, and personal necessities). Personal responsibility also naturally applies to maintaining your own boundaries and respecting those of others.
♂ The fee covers fixed costs that Community Labs undertakes toward the event but also to the landowner, such as electricity, clean water, and facilities.
♀ There is a possibility to borrow all needed tools, materials, etc. from the landowner, which will reduce this fee. This option implies we allow the tiny house to be kept by the landowner in the end, though it's ultimately up to us what happens with the building..

Bring a tent and sleeping bag. If you wish, you are welcome to bring your own materials and build your own mini-home.
The closest town is about an hour drive, so please bring your own kitchen utensils, as well as any personal necessities, such as medication and hygiene supplies.
On-site facilities provide access to clean water, electricity, showers and toilets*, a sauna, and cooking areas. A river and lake are located on-site within a short walking distance.
*Materials for showers and toilets will be provided, though simple construction will be up to each camp.
Gatherings with the other camps take place in shared spaces, such as the yurt or a larger barn (above). There are spacious grassy areas for activities like playing football, making music, co-working, or simply forest bathing. Close to where we stay, there is also a beautiful river perfect for a swim.
