Celebrating 30 plus Years.
In the 1990s parents of students at St. James School in Woodbridge - New Jersey, established the Fall Cross Country Program within the Athletic Department. With much needed help from the St. James Knights of Columbus, the club officially became a member organization under USA Track and Field, the USA governing body of the sport. The team operates under the rules of the Junior Olympic Program for youth athletics.
The club membership number is #07-0285 within USATF-NJ, a 501(c)(3) organization under USA Track and Field National in Indianapolis. Based in Woodbridge, the Crimson Knights is a Youth Cross Country team comprised of students (grades K through 8, primarily) from the Greater Middlesex County area, including southern Union County and Monmouth County. The team's regular season is comprised of youth races sponsored by other running organizations in New Jersey typically sanctioned by USA Track & Field. Our program also participates in a nationwide running competition that culminates each year at sanctioned USATF Junior Olympic National Championships. These championship races have been held in places such as South Carolina, Nevada, Georgia, Illinois, Washington, Nebraska, Kansas, Virginia, Texas, New Mexico , Florida, Wisconsin, Kentucky, just to name a few. The program's season starts when the school year begins. The progam has a long history and is an excellent opportunity for young students to learn the needed dedication regarding training and competition in sports. Ask the Coaches about our history that includes a few NJ State High School Group Champions, All State, All County, All Area Runners, HS League & Conference Honors, and HS Division Champions. Quite a few record holders and more ! The program history has also contributed collegiate runners that have earned recognition as ECAC, IC4A and Conference honors. Also several NCAA Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 honored runners and most recently Olympic Trials aspirations. After being involved in this sport for so long, we were bound to have some success !
Dedication to the sport you love can start here, with the Crimson Knights. Any Sport, not just running.
Before you can be a Champion, you have to race the clock and push yourself. That is the first goal, keep getting faster. Work Hard. Set Goals. Dream Big.
The work has to be fun for the race to be fun. Sure, frustration will be there from time to time, but the fun can be there first and always.
