Mr. Hironmoy Kakoty has received the MAY Award, instituted by the Satyajeet & Anjana Ghosh family in honor of three distinguished educators in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Kanpur: Profs. Madhav, ASR Sai, and Yudhvir. The award recognizes engineering students whose work advances industry-academia collaboration, innovation, and real-world problem-solving, including contributions such as the number of patents filed.
Dr. Chinmoy Kolay has been awarded the Excellence-in-Teaching Award 2025 by IIT Kanpur on 5 September 2025.
Ms Sukanya Karmakar has won the Best Poster Award in the two-day symposium on “Socio-Technological Aspects of Seismic Disaster and Mitigation (STASDM-2022)” during June 23-24, 2022, hosted by the Centre for Disaster Management and Research, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, for her poster titled “A seismic design procedure for steel braced frame buildings with SMA-based self-centring dampers”
Mr. Aditya Raj and Mr. Malik Faisal Nissar have been awarded the First Prize in the National Civil/Structural Engineering Students Award Competition for Best Innovative Structural Steel Design held during 14-15 February 2020 at the Institute for Steel Development and Growth (INSDAG), Kolkata
