PRIVACY POLICY
National Criminal Case Management Portal (CJRP)
Effective Date: March 12, 2026 | Last Updated: March 12, 2026
The National Criminal Case Management Portal ("CJRP" or "the App") is operated by the designated national authority responsible for coordinating criminal justice institutions in Nigeria. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of all users who access the App.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the App, you agree to the terms described in this Policy.
We collect only the minimum personal information necessary to operate the App securely. Specifically, we collect:
• Email Address — used solely to identify your account and enable secure login.
• Password — stored in encrypted form and used solely to authenticate your identity when accessing the App.
We do not collect your name, phone number, biometric data, location data, payment information, or any other personal data beyond what is listed above.
Your email address and password are used exclusively for the following purposes:
• Authentication — to verify your identity and grant you access to the App.
• Account Security — to protect your account from unauthorized access and detect suspicious activity.
• Account Management — to allow you to reset your password and manage your access credentials.
We do not use your credentials for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to authentication and account security.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Your credentials are not shared with external organizations, advertisers, or data brokers.
We may disclose your information only in the following limited circumstances:
• Legal Obligation — if required by applicable Nigerian law, court order, or lawful government authority.
• Security Enforcement — to investigate or prevent unauthorized access, fraud, or abuse of the App.
• System Administration — to authorized internal technical administrators who are bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
We take the security of your credentials seriously. The following measures are in place to protect your information:
• Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard hashing algorithms and are never stored in plain text.
• All data transmission between your device and our servers is encrypted using secure protocols (HTTPS/TLS).
• Access to credential data is strictly role-based and limited to authorized system administrators.
• System audit logs track all access events for accountability and security monitoring.
You have the right to request the disabling or removal of your account credentials at any time.
To disable your account or remove your credentials, contact the designated Portal Administrator or your Institutional Focal Person within your agency. Upon receiving a valid request, we will:
• Disable your account access promptly.
• Remove or deactivate your credentials from the active user database.
• Confirm the action taken via your registered email address.
Note: Certain records related to system audit logs may be retained for a limited period as required by applicable law or for security and accountability purposes, even after account disabling. This retention is strictly for compliance purposes and not for any commercial use.
As a user of the CJRP App, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
• Right of Access — you may request confirmation of what personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Correction — you may request correction of inaccurate account information.
• Right to Disable — you may request that your account and credentials be disabled at any time (see Section 6).
• Right to Information — you may request details on how your data is being used.
To exercise any of these rights, contact your agency's Portal Liaison Officer or the system administrator.
We retain your account credentials only for as long as your account remains active or as required for legal, security, or operational purposes. Upon a valid account disabling request, your active credentials will be removed or deactivated as described in Section 6.
The CJRP App is designed exclusively for use by authorized government and criminal justice personnel. It is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, or operational practice. When we do, the revised policy will be published with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
