Background

Serena was the only child to Carol and Elliot, a pair of winners. Due to the mere existence of Serena's egg, Serena and her parents were kicked out of heaven. Shortly after arriving in hell, Serena’s parents were attacked by some cannibal sinners. While Carol ended up being butchered by the cannibals, Elliot managed to get away but was separated from Serena’s egg. This would result in her egg being found Marsha.

Upon realizing that it was an angel egg, Marsha and her girlfriend, Octavia, tried contacting Heaven to no avail. Given that there were little to no good homes for abandoned angelings in Hell, the teen girlfriends decided to take Serena in themselves. Serena would end up hatching in Octavia's home after several months.

Serena grew up in a very loving home; after both teens grew up in such troubled households, the last thing they wanted to do was put their child through the same experience. Serena grew up surrounded by family; she was adored by her mothers and was even the ring bearer at their wedding when she was 5, frequently had playdates with her cousins, and would go on to have multiple siblings. She adored her siblings and was protective of them.

Outside of her family, a lot of demons were still wary of her. After years of annual genocides committed by Heaven's exorcist army, many demons (primarily sinners) didn't like the idea of angels being in hell (especially an angel who still had her halo). Because of this, Serena and Orion did face bullying in school but thanks to her large support system, Serena came to accept who she was and to not let these people get to her.
