About Civic Guide & Sources

Clear information. Visible sources.

Civic Guide helps people understand their government, district maps and ballots through accessible, nonpartisan county guides. We do not endorse candidates or political parties. Find Your Guide shows current coverage.

How we build a guide

We gather official government pages, election notices, maps and lookup tools into structured source records. A separate verification review checks that each fact applies to the correct jurisdiction and election. Publication requires explicit human approval of the reviewed content.

Sources and review dates

Each guide links to its official evidence and preserves source-check dates. A website review date is separate from a dataset’s vintage or legal effective date. Updating presentation does not imply a new factual verification.

Maps and personal ballots

Map tools explain overlapping jurisdictions. Available layers, source dates and limitations vary by county. They do not certify your precinct, polling place or personal ballot. Confirm those details with the responsible election authority.

Corrections and feedback

Email civicguideUS@gmail.com with the page URL, state and county, the statement that needs attention, and an official supporting source when available. Corrections are checked against evidence before election information is updated.
