Podcasts

Podcasts are a great way to learn on the go. With our busy summer schedules, this may be a great flexible option for you.  I have provided a list of educational podcasts, but you are NOT limited to this list. Please choose podcasts that are beneficial to the position you have or the position you would like to have.

To gain credit, simply complete the PODCAST PD in K-12. The Google form will require a link to the podcast (or title if you can't find it) and  a short summary of what you learned from the podcast. For additional credit, you can submit any new activities, lessons, or a product that you created because of your new knowledge.  I will calculate the minutes spent listening and an estimate for any additional credit and place it in K-12. (I may need to contact you to see how much time you spent on any products associated with the podcast.)

If you highly recommend the podcast you chose, I would love for you to E-mail me so that I can add it to the list.

Podcasts are available through various free podcast websites and apps including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. These can be used on any computer or mobile device.

Cult of Pedagogy by Jennifer Gonzalez has many resources on her website for blogs and podcasts. If you choose Blog there is searchable topics section and each blog article allows you to listen the podcast as well as provide additional material.

The Shake Up Learning Show is a weekly podcast hosted by Kasey Bell.

The show features a variety of episodes for K12 teachers and educators, including tech tips, lesson ideas, practical advice, on-air coaching, student interviews, and interviews with inspiring educators.

Hosted by Kasey Bell (from the Shake Up Learning Show) and Matt Miller (from ditchthattextbook.com), The Google Teacher Tribe Podcast is brilliant if you use any of the Google suite of tools (seriously, who doesn’t?).

If you were wondering how Google tools could help you (and they will help you, trust me) this is the podcast to listen to.

Sophie Bailey started the EdTech Podcast with one goal in mind: help teachers generate and visualize evidence about the effectiveness of their actions. Current host Rose Luckin (Professor of Learner-Centered Design at UCL) is an expert in AI’s use in education, being able to lead in-depth discussions about closing the gap between ‘ed’ and ‘tech’ through innovation.

Tina Boogren, also known for her work with High Reliable Schools, has become very popular for her Self-Care for Educators podcast.

You can also find her supporting educators on her social media platforms.
