The City Tech Architectural Department returned from the world of isolation and Zoom post COVID in 2021. Students although physically present on campus, were still isolated and the entire Studio Culture + Student Life balance was misaligned!
The City Tech AIAS Chapter was restarted by a small group of 15 like minded Architectural students who were looking for a way to elevate the Archi Student Experience and bring back the sense of community. The AIAS Chapter bloomed into a close-knit community of passionate architecture students united through design and innovation. grew into a vivaciously organized group shaping architectural education on our campus. This has transformed into a family of future architects who support one another through their ups and downs, through numerous sleepless nights of design charrettes, thought-provoking guest lectures, and community projects.
It has been a beautifully engraved journey: nervy first presentations to flourishing networking events, live studio all-nighters to collective celebrations. Each semester has taken us further by connecting us to local professional firms, inspiring conference experiences with other students around our region, and developing programs with real meaning for our members. Nevertheless, we embrace our growth while honoring the very founding sentiments of the organization: creativity, professional growth, and friendship. As we build our story, we are still structured around leaving an overall impact on the next incoming generation of architects.
