The ancient city of Troy, located in the foothills of Mount Ida near Çanakkale, Turkey, is one of the world's most famous archaeological sites. Dating back to around 3000 BC, Troy is best known for its role in Homer's "Iliad" and the legendary Trojan War. The site consists of multiple layers of settlement spanning over 4000 years. Troy's significance lies in its mythological, literary, and archaeological value, contributing greatly to world heritage. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998, the city was brought to light by Heinrich Schliemann's excavations in the 19th century, bridging the gap between ancient history and modern times.
Nowadays, digital technologies are widely used. One of the popular approaches nowadays is the presentation of ancient cities using 3D and augmented reality(AR)technology.
