CityBrain Forum
@ KDD 2021 workshop
@ KDD 2021 workshop
Introduction
As global populations tend towards more urbanization, policymakers are grappling with increasing congestion, greater demand for limited resources, and environmental concerns. Nowadays, massive data are collected in cities, and recent work in industry and academia suggests that many key transportation challenges can be solved with data-driven methods. In this context, we proposed a KDD workshop "CityBrain", examining the current challenges and recent breakthroughs related to intelligent urban transportation.
This year's CityBrain workshop will feature a series of discussions about the current research progress on smart transportation. There would be three key areas of interest: data representation, policy learning, and policy evaluation. The panel discussions will be live-streamed over the internet; additionally, we will record the entire workshop and make it freely available online. In addition to the panel discussion, the workshop will integrate a more formal tutorial on smart transportation's potential challenges. Finally, we will prepare a comprehensive report and publish it. We believe that viewing these critical areas of interest as a single feedback loop will lead to future breakthroughs in CityBrain research.
