Our obedience classes incorporate functional as well as formal obedience exercises. We train our dogs according to standards provided by the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program developed by the Kennel Union of South Africa. In addition to CGC, we also train according the standards required by the Schutzhund dog sport (known as IGP). IGP tests the dogs in obedience, tracking and protection disciplines. 

In Bitework, we aim to develop confident dogs that can take on any challenge they might face. We can train for either personal protection or for the protection sport discipline from IGP.

Man-trailing is an excellent discipline to help develop your dog's confidence. Man-trailing teaches dogs to follow human scent in various environments. We often host seminars by Clinton Cilliers from Tactical K9 Africa.

Detection or article detection is a discipline focused on teaching the dogs to indicate when the target odour is found. This is great mental stimulation for breeds which have strong drives to use their noses such as beagles.

Agility is a sport that tests the dog's, and owners!, ability to safely navigate an obstacle course consisting og jumps, tunnels, weaves and more. It builds a special bond of trust between dog and owner and provides excellent physical and mental stimulation.
