The song can be bought in the game Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games as background music, although it is titled City Escape. The song has been remixed for Sonic Generations and it plays when the player is in City Escape. The song also returns in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games as background music and is chosen in any other event while being played. It is a default song available in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, where it can be heard on the Windy Hill stage, and in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where it can be heard on both Windy Hill and Green Hill stages. The instrumental version of the song can be heard in the background of Golden Bay tracks in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle and Sonic Dash. A live remix was used during the Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary Symphony. A remix of the Modern version from Sonic Generations, known as the Funk RMX, was published on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel on 16 December 2021.

At Sonic Boom, the music for Classic Sonic's version of City Escape in Sonic Generations was revealed. Modern Sonic's take on the song was heard on the Japanese version of the City Escape trailer.

Sound Memories were introduced in The Sights, Sounds, and Speed Update. They're a new collectible that allows you to change the music whenever you're in the open world. You'll need to open up your map and look for the orange music notes around the island to find them all.

"Escape from the City" (sometimes erroneously called "Follow Me") is the music for the City Escape stage in Sonic Adventure 2. It was composed and arranged by Jun Senoue, with lyrics penned by lead vocalist Ted Poley. Prior to the release of SA2, an instrumental version of this piece is used in Sonic Adventure 2: The Trial. The track also appears on Crush 40's eponymous 2003 album as a bonus track with a slightly different mix.

Thirteen songs are given to the player the instant they start the game after the Sights, Sounds, and Speed DLC. Sixty-four more are scattered around all five Starfall Islands, including the individual tracks for each island that were added as part of Sonic's Birthday Bash update. For those aiming to complete their music collection, this guide will go over all the Sound Memories' locations.

2 - Arid Sands - Day - New players may find this Sound Memory as they play. Near Island Challenge M-054, there will be a spring that takes Sonic high up to the top of a small mountain. This is where this orange music note can be found.

3 - This is Our World - Phase 2 (Sonic Forces' map screen music) - By the M-042 puzzle, there will be a small awning with an underground passage underneath. Fans should go through this passage and head to the path on the left. This Sound Memory will be waiting there for them. Players can also fast-travel to the Fishing Portal that sits up above this entrance to the underground ruins, as it sits just before the pulley to go to it.

Samba De Amigo: Party Central was announced for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year and has promised to be an exciting return for the franchise as an official sequel. The Bell in Hand Tavern is one of the city's oldest operating bars which serves up similarly quiet acoustic music during the week; a great place to go for those who have grown tired of the oft-deafening volume of most live music in bars. Instead, conversations here at the Bell in Hand Tavern can be heard over the music and over a pint, while on other nights bands play their musical wares on the opposing side of the bar, making this Union Street stop a solid place to bring a group of friends or out-of-town guests for a drink.
