Has your city's overall education level increased recently? Low level industrial buildings want uneducated workers, and workers will prefer to take jobs that are of their education level. Your workforce may be over-educated now and avoiding industrial jobs.

If you are running into this issue with specialized industry (agriculture, forest industry), consider adding or re-zoning high-density residential zones within the district and assign the "Highrise Ban" and "High Density Residential Tax-Relief" policies. This would be a short-term fix as you'll see a huge influx of uneducated young adults, but this may change over time as they get educated. This is especially true if any education buildings are nearby.

Cities Skylines Download Buildings

They're plainly connected, there's water to spare, it's a small town with very little to process... why are random buildings without water? Am I missing something here? No maningful mods, just visual.

So I downloaded Fint It! and thought it was the greatest mod ever in Cities Skylines, since it enables you to look through all vanilla buildings for residential, office and industrial and plob the exact buildings down you want, making it possible to create special themes with unique looking buildings etc.

But a few minutes later ALL buildings placed this way get hit with low land value and gets abandoned. Ive searched for answers but all I can find is people having similar trouble with the RICO mod. Dont bother asking me what Ive done to increase land value because Ive tried every single thing in the game that naturally increases land value, and it doesnt work. Does anyway know how to fix this - or have had similar "bug"? I searched workshop for a mod that removes the whole land value concept, but couldnt find anything.

Hi! I've recently started a new city with the new DLC and I keep having the same problem. Every time I zone the pedestrian areas with specialised zoning (wall-to-wall, tourism etc.) the buildings appear and then disappear a few seconds later. This doesn't happen with unspecialised zoning or districts with themes, just the built-in specialised zoning. I've tried updating all the mods I can but nothing seems to fix it :(

To rotate buildings, first, you must select the building you wish to place down. Once selected, you can rotate the building in 25-degree increments by pressing the right mouse button. For a more freeform rotation, hold the right mouse button to rotate the building freely in any direction or angle.

Another helpful feature that can help with rotating buildings is to toggle the "Snap to the sides of a road" off via the Snapping toolbar. This will allow you to place and rotate buildings much more freely, as the building will no longer snap straight to the roadside.

Hey all. I'm somewhat new to C:S and have been playing for a few months now. I'm familiar with many of the common mods (Move It!, Road Anarchy, RICO, etc.) and have recently been wanting to start creating more realistic cities. I've downloaded a number of really great assets from the workshop that have been super helpful so far, including various types of buildings, retaining walls, roads/paths, ground textures, props, and more.

My biggest question is how to make my zoned areas look more realistic. Many of the vanilla commercial buildings, offices, and industrial buildings tend to look pretty weird... either they're way too futuristic looking, they're sort of cartoonish, or just generally don't "fit in" with the rest of the area. I find some of the houses to be similar in that they just don't fit in.

I understand that I can use RICO to plop buildings by hand, but if I want to just zone a couple of blocks and have the game fill that in with commercial or houses or whatever, how can I prevent the game from spawning weird looking buildings that don't fit in with the theme/area? For example, if I only wanted commercial buildings with an old-American look (Detroit, NYC, etc) or a French/European look, or I only wanted houses with a New England look, are there ways to do that?

I don't mind hand-plopping buildings in important areas, but doing that everywhere just seems exhausting and extremely tedious. There has to be a better way, right? Would love to hear any tips/tricks that you may have. Thanks in advance!

Setting the style of one's buildings is a feature given to the player right from the start of the game, as Cities: Skylines comes with two different building styles in the base game: European and American. However, selecting the style for one's buildings isn't the most intuitive process, despite not being very difficult to accomplish. Players enjoying this city builder should take a look at some specific in-game menus to find the method to changing building styles.

Thanks to modding support being quite active for this much-loved city builder game, there are tons of different styles for buildings that can be found on the Steam Workshop section for Cities: Skylines. To find them, simply head to the aforementioned section of Steam and look on the right for the list of search terms. Check the one designated as "District Style" to find all of the mods that will grant players a new look for their buildings.

Unique buildings are one-of-a-kind buildings capable of increasing tourism and provides the requirements to building monuments. Unique buildings are unlocked by meeting certain positive or negative criteria. Once unlocked, unique buildings carry over new game save files, in the expense of requiring to reach a certain milestone. Unlocked unique buildings can be reset through the options menu in the main page, requiring the need to meet the criteria of each unique building again. [1]

There are 45 buildings you need to unlock. There are 12 that are specific to european maps that you can skip. You can also skip any DLC specific buildings. Building unlocks are saved on your profile, they are not specific to any particular city or save game. You can even unlock them while using the unlimited money option. (It will void achievements in that city, but it will still unlock the buildings.)

This leads to steep walls of dirt and grass sitting next to buildings, as if you're designing some kind of iron age fortification rather than a modern city. You can see the weird effect in the screenshot below.

At first glance, it at least looks like the building plots themselves are flat, but look closely and you'll see anyone trying to sit on the bench in the garden will immediately slide right off it. Buildings themselves are always flat, but how much the game flattens the rest of the plot is inconsistent. In some cases, I've seen buildings appear next to each other, built on a similar incline, where one garden is nice and even, and the other is all over the place.

Most buildings contain props outside them, from signs to swimming pools to garden furniture, giving each neighbourhood and street an extra dose of personality. I've spent a hell of a lot of time zoomed in just snooping around gardens. But this just makes the imperfections so much more noticeable, and how the props conform to the terrain is inconsistent. Some objects act like buildings, so things like pools and greenhouses are flat, even on the steepest slopes. Sometimes that means they look like they're floating, but if the slope is steep enough sometimes a pillar will appear to prop them up. Just a normal thing to stick below a greenhouse.

For some, this might not be much of a bugbear. If all you care about is making an efficient city, quirks like this might be easy to ignore. I like my cities to be pretty, though, and Cities: Skylines 2's more realistic style and extra little details make these terrain morphing issues impossible for me to ignore. They've been driving me properly loopy whenever I go down to street level.

It's far from a perfect solution, necessitating quite a lot of faffing around and making your cities look flat and uniform instead of resembling real-world locations. But it's better than the alternative.

This overlay shows how strongly each building pulls tourists to the city. Amusement park buildings and uniques like the Stadium and Expo Centre are great. Tourism specialised commercial districts, in pale green, also contribute.

In Cities: Skylines, people from other cities can come and visit yours. Cims can arrive by road, rail, water, air and even space to have a look around. They enjoy your parks, visit your cultural centres, play sports or just soak up the nightlife.

The main answer is, of course, to build. Build tourism-specialised commercial districts, unique buildings, landmarks, and the new Parklife park districts. Construct an enormous amusement park with two of every building and watch them flock to your city!

If you go that way, you could put your amusement park, casino and hotel uniques together, surrounded by leisure and tourism districts. Somewhere else, you could go for a beachfront feel based around all the marina-type buildings and perhaps a busy ferry line. In a greener area, maybe a campus district that serves university education to your citizens, complemented by tourist-trap landmarks. The Observatory, Climate Research Station and stuff like the Tax Office, Oppression Office and Amsterdam Palace make it look real.

Keep in mind that buildings still need to connect to roads, so depending on your angle you may receive a warning that a road is required. Simply build a connecting road and the Cities Skylines 2 rotation job is done! To continue building your idyllic city, check out our guide on how to change road direction!

The list of cities with most skyscrapers ranks cities around the world by their number of skyscrapers. A skyscraper is defined as a continuously habitable high-rise building that has over 40 floors[1] and is taller than approximately 150 m (492 ft).[2]Historically, the term first referred to buildings with 10 to 20 floors in the 1880s. The definition shifted with advancing construction technology during the 20th century which allowed for taller buildings to be constructed.[1] 9af72c28ce
