Welcome to the Student Abstract Submission Form for the 2024 Central Indiana Severe Weather Symposium!
The Indiana AMS chapter is excited to invite students to contribute to our upcoming symposium. This event aims to showcase student research and experiences related to local severe weather in the Ohio Valley, Great Lakes, and Indiana regions. Typically, there are between 150 and 250 attendees from across a variety of backgrounds and professions including National Weather Service, Media, and Emergency Management. This will be a great opportunity for any student to network, improve public speaking skills, and showcase their achievements!
Important Dates:
Abstract Submission Deadline: Friday, September 20th
Monday, September 23rd
Presenter Decisions Announced: Wednesday, September 25th
Symposium Date: Saturday, October 19th from 8:30AM to 4:30PM
Submission Details: We are looking for abstracts for two types of presentations:
Lightning Talks: 10-15 minutes long. We have 4 spots available.
Poster Presentations: Up to 20 spots available.
Your presentation can cover any aspect of severe weather, from research findings to personal experiences, as long as it is relevant to the local severe weather themes.
Awards: To recognize outstanding contributions, we will be offering:
1 Award for the Best Lightning Talk: $100 and an award certificate.
2 Awards for the Best Poster Presentations: $100 each and award certificates.
