Founded in 1987, the Council of International Student Organizations (CISO) is one of the 18 University Chartered Student Organizations (UCSO) on campus. We serve as the governing body for all international student organizations at Virginia Tech. We work directly with the Cranwell International Center to represent the international community on campus and provide opportunities to showcase their cultures. We serve as a liaison between our constituents and university administration of Virginia Tech, campus entities, and the Blacksburg, VA community.
Each month, join us for a new International Café Hour at Deet's Place from 4-6 p.m. on selected Fridays once a month, where each Café Hour highlights a different country or region represented by students here at Virginia Tech.
This monthly program brings students, faculty, staff, and community members together over complimentary refreshments, light international food, and conversation. Registered Student Organizations (RSO) at Virginia Tech host each International Café Hour in partnership with Cranwell International Center and Dining Services. Financial support for supplies is provided to each RSO. This program is designed to be both social and educational.
Dance of Nations is an event that showcases the dance, music, and culture of the numerous international RSOs and CISO's constituent organizations that exist in the Virginia Tech and Blacksburg community. There will be more than 15 international student performances at this showcase. DON is also a great place to connect with people that represent your culture and/or other cultures!
