I'm using Cisco jabber at work and it only allows three rings prior to going to voicemail. I looked all through the settings and through the online help and cannot find where I can set this. It is possible I am locked down to changing it but wanted to ask here first before I open a ticket. Thank you

While I work I usually listen to music over headphones. I have Jabber set to use an audio notification when I get messages. When receiving a new Jabber message while using headphones, for some reason Jabber defaults to using the built in laptop speakers and NOT my headphones. To make things worse, while the jabber tone is playing it also redirects all other streaming audio such as my music to the internal speakers so for 1-2 seconds everyone around me can hear the jabber tone and my music. After the jabber tone is done the streaming audio goes back to my headphones.

*** One more thing. It may be possible to assign a dial-peer via MAC address. I know the you make up FAKE MAC addresses for the jabber client. Change the Jabber clients MAC address and see if that helps. It is under the Jabber settings.. to manually assign a MAC.

I see one unanswered post here: -forum/cisco-jabber-apm-cannot-make-internal-calls/td-p/251591

containing a link to this Support KB article K16680 on VoIP through network access connections.

Looks like there are quite a few others as well asking for help between 2018 and 2020.

If ^that^ info isn't helpful I'll poke around internally to see if I can find someone to address this.

I want to configure Cisco Jabber and enable the function of the PickupGroup and HuntGroup in Cisco Jabber. For this I have to adapt an xml file (jabber-config-defaults.xml) in C:\Program Files(x86)\Cisco Systems\Cisco Jabber. I have to paste this piece of code

Recently we implemented SSL Decryption and everything in the webex environment worked fine for the Webex connect client but people using the jabber client cannot send or receive images over IM. I have started a case with Cisco on this, however, their documentation leads me to believe images used to be sent insecurely in the old client and securely in the new client.

Cisco Jabber also integrates with Webex, giving you the ability to instantly arrange a video conference, and allows for desktop sharing. Visit go.rowan.edu/jabber for more help getting started with Cisco Jabber and information on the Appropriate Data Use permitted in Cisco Jabber. ff782bc1db
