Cisco provides locale-specific versions of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager LocaleInstaller and the IM and PresenceService Locale Installer on www.cisco.com. Installed by thesystem administrator, the locale installer allows the user toview/receive the chosen translated text or tones, if applicable, when a user works with supported interfaces.

For upgrades of Cisco Unified Communications Manager or the IM& Presence Service, you must install locales after you havecompleted all of your upgrades and migrations. For upgrades, youmust reinstall any locales that you are using, with the exceptionof US-English, which is installed by default. Install the latestversion of the locales that match the major.minor version number ofyour Cisco Unified Communications Manager node or IM and PresenceService node.

Install locales after you have installed Cisco Unified Communications Manager onevery node in the cluster and have set up the database. If you wantto install specific locales on IM andPresence Service nodes, you must first install the Cisco Unified Communications Manager localefile for the same country on the CiscoUnified Communications Manager cluster.

User locale files contain language information for a specific language and country. They provide translated text and voice prompts, if available, for phone displays, user applications, and user web pages in the locale that the user chooses. These files use the following naming convention:

Network locale files provide country-specific files for various network items, including phone tones, annunciators, and gateway tones. The combined network locale file uses the following naming convention:

You can install locale files from either alocal or a remote source by using the same process for installingsoftware upgrades. You can install more than one locale file oneach node in the cluster. Changes do not take effect until youreboot every node in the cluster. Cisco strongly recommends thatyou do not reboot the nodes until you have installed all locales onall nodes in the cluster. Minimize call-processing interruptions byrebooting the nodes after regular business hours.

Use this procedure to install a new locale on Cisco Unified Communications Manager or IM and Presence Service. If you are installing a locale for both products, install the locale on all cluster nodes in the following order:

Note

Do not reset user locales for your end users until the new locale is installed on all cluster nodes. If you are installing the locale for both Cisco Unified Communications Manager and IM and Presence Service, you must install the locale for both products before you reset user locales. If you run into any issues, such as could occur if an end user resets a phone language before the locale installation is complete for IM and Presence Service, have your users reset their phone language in the Self-Care Portal to English. After the locale installation is complete, users can reset their phone language, or you use Bulk Administration to synchronize locales to the appropriate language by bulk.

This error occurs because a Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager application called installdb must be present; it reads information that is contained in a CSV file and applies it correctly to the Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager database. If this application is not found, it either was not installed with Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager (very unlikely), has been deleted (more likely), or the node does not have Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager installed (most likely). Installation of the locale will terminate because locales will not work without the correct records that are held in the database.

These errors could occur when the system fails to create a checksum file; causes can include an absent Java executable, /usr/local/thirdparty/java/j2sdk/ jre/bin/java, an absent or damaged Java archive file, /usr/local/cm/jar/cmutil.jar, or an absent or damaged Java class, com.cisco.ccm.util.Zipper. Even if these errors occur, the locale will continue to work correctly, with the exception of Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager Assistant, which cannot detect a change in localized Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager Assistant files.

I am new to FREEPBX and I am enjoying the service thus far. I am currently in the process of developing a VoIP system at my house for I am a computer engineering student and wanted to have a fun project to work on during the summer. I currently have 4 phones registered to my system. I have 3 CISCO 7942Gs and 1 CISCO 7941G. Those phones function very well. I really like the look of the 7821s and would rather use those in place of the 7941s. I am having some trouble registering the phone. My TFTP server is pulling the correct files and updated the firmware on the phone. Then I had an error come up in the status section error verifying config. I had changed the port number and that error is gone. Now I am getting an error stating error updating user locale and error updating network locale. I am getting the correct date and time on the phone. The phone will not register, just states registration in progress. Attached is my config file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have starred out any password or username for my privacy.

In my testing, SIP Trunks only play greetings from the EN_US locale, even when I have other international Locales installed on my cluster. I beleive this is because SIP Trunks do not have a Locale, and therefore default to the system default Locale on your cluster.Even if you have phones in other Locales, and apply the policy on the phone, the Locale defines the announcement, and for greetings before the call reaches a phone, that locale is the SIP Trunk, which is "default".

The Phone Only locale installer needs to be installed after the CUCM locale is installed. Consult the Cisco Unified Communications Manager documentation for installation instructions as referenced in the "Related Documentation" section. Please refer to Cisco Unified Communications Manager documentation to determine which devices and protocols are supported by the target host's version. This will identify components contained within the locale installer release which will become effective and those which will not be utilized at all. Cisco Unified Communications Manager, consult the README for the ciscopo.version3-keys.cop.sgn or ciscopo.version3-keys.cop.sha512 to determine if this additional cop file must first be installed on your specific Cisco Unified Communications Manager version. This command is irreplaceable for the analysis of any problem. It displays the events that have occurred on a node: restarts, installation of components (COP files, locales), successful and failed backups.

Planning to install COP Files in CUCM? COP files like ciscocm.version3-keys.cop.sgn, ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.5.cop.sgn, ciscocm.vmware-disk-size-reallocation-1.0.cop.sgn or any other COP or Locale? This is quite easy and simple task. ff782bc1db
