Alizé, Live in Berlin. 06/05/2026
Master notes:
From the moment I arrived at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz, with its grand marquee and the magnificently illuminated name ALIZE, I got a sense that what I was about to see was nothing small. The theater lobby was decorated with little characters that we would meet later, and there were tables for enjoying a glass of wine or a snack. There was also a photo booth and a modest souvenir shop (the show already has a program and a special glass that costs €3; this is practically mandatory if you want to bring your own drink into the theater). A small bell chimes, like at an opera, and upon entering the main hall, you were greeted by these magnificent trees with branches that reach into the walls. The ambient lighting and sound were excellent, and the view from my seat was spectacular (16-1, ground floor). The music begins with the singer performing an introductory number, and a voice announces that no photos or videos should be taken throughout the show until its conclusion. I won't fully describe the program to keep the big secrets, but I will say that there's a live tornado, majestic illusions, and the theater comes alive on its own for specific moments. The artists and certain acts take place above the audience, and there are moments when you don't know if what you're seeing is real or an illusion. They took the term "acromagic" to another level. I loved the sound and music.
The acts presented were:
Bedroom
Park (Chairs, BMX, Acro Pole, Hand to Hand)
Storm
Straps & Bungee
Magic Box
Puppetry & Clown
Contortion
Acromagic & Juggling
Second act:
High Wire
Puppetry & Clown
Trampo Wall
Acro-Ladder
Levitation & Adagio
Aerial Silk
Planquine & Levitation
As a final note, the clown is fascinating throughout the entire show; a marvelous character.
If you have the opportunity to see this great show, go.
I give it a perfect 10 and consider it one of the best Cirque du Soleil shows currently.
