Why Our Song Choices Matter:
Every song in Cirandinha is intentionally selected to bridge language acquisition and motor development. We move from onomatopoeia and body-part mapping in the early weeks, to call-and-response games in the kitchen week, and finally to name recognition and circle dance (roda) in our finale. This progression ensures your baby absorbs sounds, rhythms, and cultural connection in a natural, research-backed sequence.
Due to high demand and overwhelmingly positive community response, Cirandinha is expanding! To provide the most developmentally appropriate experience for every stage of early childhood, we offer two distinct age cohorts:
🍼 Baby & Infant Cohort (0–24 Months): 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
🐥 Toddler & Preschool Cohort (2–4 Years): 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM
We respect every child's individual boundary and sensory needs. In both cohorts, we will have a cozy Quiet & Creative Station equipped with crayons, markers, paper, and a selection of books. If a child feels overwhelmed, needs a moment to regulate, or prefers to observe from a distance before jumping into a roda, they are welcome to use this space at any time.
Focus: Acoustic sound mapping, caregiver co-regulation, tactile sensory play, and early neural motor foundations.
Week 1: Os Animais do Sítio & A Natureza (Farm & Nature)
Songs: Seu Lobato Tinha um Sítio, Dona Aranha, Meu Pintinho Amarelinho
Sensory & Studio Props: Soft mats, incline climbing wedges, plush farm animals, ribbon/yarn "spider webs," and sticky toy spiders.
Curriculum Focus: Onomatopoeic vocal foundations (mumu, auau, miau), dramatic tempo changes (climbing up high and dropping low), and gentle palm-tapping for emotional safety (cabe na minha mão).
Week 2: Água, Lagoa & Rio (Water, Lakes & Rivers)
Songs: 5 Patinhos, O Sapo Não Lava o Pé, Caranguejo Peixe É
Sensory & Studio Props: Blue ocean scarves, rubber ducks, toy frogs with felt lily pads, crab puppets, and low foam balance beams.
Curriculum Focus: Object permanence as ducks disappear and return, vowel isolation through nasal exaggeration (O Sapo Não Lava o Pé), and gentle sideways mat crawling (Caranguejo).
Week 3: O Mercado & A Cozinha (Market & Kitchen Play)
Songs: Fui ao Mercado Comprar Café, Borboletinha Tá na Cozinha, O Que Que Tem na Sopa do Neném?
Sensory & Studio Props: Crawl-through market tunnel, coffee shaker bottles, big cooking pot with wooden spoons, and felt food items.
Curriculum Focus: Direct body-part mapping through tactile tickles (pé, coxa, nariz), steady 2/4 rhythm tracking with shaker bottles, and vocal contrasts (É! vs. NÃO!).
Week 4: Ciranda, A Roda & A Festa do Gato (Circle Dance & Celebration)
Songs: Ciranda, Cirandinha, Atirei Atum pro Gato, Se Eu Fosse um Peixinho
Sensory & Studio Props: Plush cats with felt tuna slices, fabric fish, pandeiros (mini drums), and group circle streamers.
Curriculum Focus: Experiencing collective inclusion in a roda, rhythmic anticipation before vocalizing ("MIAU!"), and personalized name recognition inside the circle.
Focus: Active Capoeira movement, hands-on percussion, active call-and-response language output, and peer social play.
While the 0–24 month class centers on gentle sound absorption and parent-child bonding, the 2–4 Years Cohort transitions into active physical expression:
🥁 Capoeira Movement & Spatial Control: Dynamic floor play including ginga footwork, animal movement imitations (sapinho, caranguejo), spatial awareness, and balance.
🪘 Hands-on Percussion: Children play authentic instruments (chocalhos, pandeiros) and explore the acoustic vibrations of the berimbau.
🗣️ Capoeira Kids Songs & Call-and-Response: Toddlers build active language skills through energetic Capoeira lyrics (Sim, Sim, Sim, Não, Não, Não / Paranaê, Paraná) alongside traditional cantigas de roda.
Week 1: Animais, Natureza & Movimento de Capoeira
Songs: Seu Lobato Tinha um Sítio, Paranaguá (Kids Capoeira Adaptation), Meu Pintinho Amarelinho
Percussion & Props: Chocalhos (shakers), incline wedges, and obstacle mats.
Curriculum Focus: Shaking chocalhos to fast/slow tempos. Translating farm animals into Capoeira movements: sapinho (frog hops), caranguejo (sideways crab crawls), and low duck walks across the studio mats.
Week 2: Água, Fluxo & Gingado
Songs: 5 Patinhos, Sim, Sim, Sim, Não, Não, Não (Capoeira Call-and-Response), Caranguejo Peixe É
Percussion & Props: Acoustic Berimbau introduction, ocean scarves, foam balance beams.
Curriculum Focus: Observing and feeling the vibrations of the berimbau. Toddlers practice active call-and-response singing (Sim, Sim, Sim / Não, Não, Não), basic side-to-side ginga sways, and soft esquiva ducking games.
Week 3: Mercado, Cozinha & Percussão Ativa
Songs: Fui ao Mercado Comprar Café, Vem, Vem, Vem Jogar Capoeira, Sopa do Neném
Percussion & Props: Pandeiros, market tunnel, cooking pots, and felt foods.
Curriculum Focus: Playing pandeiros to the beat while practicing level changes (cocorinha squatting and standing up fast). Toddlers step into the center of a roda to demonstrate a movement before returning to the circle.
Week 4: A Roda, Celebração & Festa da Capoeira
Songs: Ciranda, Cirandinha, Paranaê, Paraná, Se Eu Fosse um Peixinho
Percussion & Props: Full Roda Percussion (Berimbau lead + Chocalhos and Pandeiros), streamers, fabric fish.
Curriculum Focus: Toddlers lead the rhythm in a mini Capoeira roda. They practice low side hops (macacopreparation), sing out loud during Paranaê, and step into the center individually when their name is sung in Se Eu Fosse um Peixinho.
