Currently, we are mainly in the process of starting up our experimental Laboratory to cool and trap calcium ions for quantum simulation, computations and precision measurements. We are also interested to explore cold atoms and vapor cell based quantum technologies in metrology and sensors development of national importance. Right now building our setup for trapping ions and cold atoms which includes CW diode lasers, control electronics, optical mounts and design, ultra high vacuum chamber design etc. We are in a very exciting stage of laboratory development where every motivated individuals will be trained in the hands-on skills for quantum technologies using cold atoms, ions and vapor cell. More details can be found in Publications, Teams and Research.
Join our team: We always welcome applications from motivated people from undergraduates, graduates and post-doctoral applications. Check details below.
Students interested to do a serious project for their M.S/M.Tech/Dual degree are encourage to contact S R Chanu with a detail CV. We are looking for Electrical and communication engineer, EE, Mechanical Engineer, Physicists who wants to do RF simulation of quadrupole traps, resonators design, instrumentation with FPGA, circuit design with Altium, assembling and debugging PCBs are welcome to apply for six months to one year projects.
We are a part of Dept. of Physics and Center for Laser and Photonics (CELP), IITK. You have the flexibility to choose your departments from the two for physicist and engineer. Interested individuals are requested to send your inquiry and CV including contact details of three referees with a statement of interest to S R Chanu for institute funding applications twice a year. External fellowship like DST, Chanakaya, Women scientist, POWER Fellowship are also welcome to apply.
