Cipher does not collect personal information from users.
Cipher does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, location, photos, messages, financial information, or health information.
Local storage
Notes created in Cipher are stored locally on the user’s device.
The app is designed so notes remain on the device unless the user chooses to export, import, back up, restore, share, or otherwise move their data manually.
Security
Cipher includes local privacy features such as PIN protection, note locking, and local encrypted storage where supported by the app version and device.
Users are responsible for remembering their PIN and recovery information.
Data sharing
Cipher does not share user data with third parties.
Cipher does not upload notes to cloud servers.
Cipher does not send note content to external services.
Internet and network use
Cipher is designed as an offline-first app.
If future versions add optional online features, this privacy policy will be updated before those features are released.
Children
Cipher is not designed for children. It is intended for general productivity use by developers, writers, and privacy-focused users.
User control
Users can create, edit, delete, export, import, back up, or restore their notes using available app features.
Deleted notes may remain temporarily in trash if the app’s trash safety feature is enabled.
