Education
I graduated from Forest City Regional High School and attended Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, where I obtained by Bachelor of Science Degree in English Education. I also have both a Master’s Degree and Master’s of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing from Wilkes University.

Teaching Stats
I have been teaching at FCR for ten years and worked at Blue Ridge High School prior. During my time at Forest City Regional, I have taught seventh and eighth grade English Language Arts and German. I am very involved in our Forester community, having coached both soccer and basketball, and advised numerous clubs over the years. Currently I am the Newspaper Club advisor, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee chair, PBIS Core Team member, and the JV Girls Basketball coach.

Mrs. Heller's Closet
I run a charitable organization known as “Mrs. Heller’s Closet,” which was created after my grandmother passed away. My grandmother was always purchasing clothing and school items for children in need in our community. My family wanted to carry on her legacy by creating this organization to continue giving back to our amazing Forester community. Our organization purchases clothing for FCR children in need. If your family or a family you know is in need of this support, please email me!

Reading Stats
I am an avid reader and writer and truly love my job. I want to share my love of books and passion for reading with my students. When I was in high school, I hated reading and only went into English education because of my interest in writing. It was in college where I discovered the books I loved – sci-fi, YA, dystopian, thrillers, fantasy – books we did not study in my high school tenure. I read and listen to over 50 novels each year and love discussing books!

My Interests
I love animals and have three cats and a dog. I share many hobbies with my students including playing video games, riding side by sides, and arts and crafts. I love decorating sugar cookies and hiking. My favorite places that I've traveled to include Alaska, Utah, and Maine, specifically Acadia & Zion National Parks!
