Communication Plan

In the event of a health-related closure, the following modes of communication will be used:

• School Messenger emails and/or phone calls to parents/guardians

• Notifications on the district website (www.cinnaminson.com)

• Updates to the district Twitter feed (@CinnaminsonBOE)

• Updates on the district Facebook page (@CinnaminsonSchools)

Continuity of Instruction/Equitable Access

The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) informed school districts on March 5th that schools should plan for home instruction in the event of a health-related school closure. According to the NJDOE, home instruction would include online instruction or "any other means developed by the district to meet the needs of its students." Any day in which schools are closed and home instruction is provided will count toward the 180-day requirement mandated by statute. All families were surveyed about electronic device availability and internet access. Accommodations are in progress to meet the needs of all families so home instruction can be delivered.

All schools have developed a method for daily attendance as well as a platform for students and parents to receive daily updates, assignments, and expectations. Please refer to the individual pages of our schools on this site for more specific information about their plans for home instruction.

• Teachers will maintain communication with their students in an effort to maintain continuity with the curriculum of the course.

• Based on the school and the teacher, modes of communication and delivery of instruction will likely include Google Classroom, Remind, Seesaw, Dojo, etc.

• Students may be asked to complete assignments that will be turned in online and/or submitted when schools reopen.

• Staff members will be available at designated times each day to answer questions. Teachers will communicate with students/parents/guardians about these designated times. Additionally, staff will continue to respond to email.

• Instruction will be differentiated to meet the needs of all of our students (ELL, Special Education/504, at risk, Gifted and Talented [Honors/AP]).

  • If any modifications or accomodations cannot be delivered, compensatory services will be provided when schools reopen.

• School counselors will be available to communicate with students as needed via email.

School Nutrition

• School lunches will be available each day. Orders must be placed by 9:45 AM. To place an order, click on the Daily Lunch Order link on the main page or on the link above. STUDENT MUST BE PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE TO PICK UP THE LUNCH.

• The district is devising a plan for meal pickup in close proximity to residency.
