Charlene was born in Aruba and went to Mon Plaisir Basisschool and Colegio Arubano. She studied Hospitality Management & Business Administration at Stenden University in Leeuwarden, Holland.
When she finished her studies, Charlene decided to live and work for nine years in Curaçao. She started working at the Hyatt Regency as a Human Resources Coordinator before being promoted to Human Resources Training Manager. In this position, Charlene guided, coached, and trained the hotel's personnel. After this, Charlene worked as a Human Resource Advisor for two years at CuraOil. In her last five years In Curaçao, Charlene was responsible as the Regional Human Resource Director at Curaçao, Bonaire, Aruba, Suriname, Guyana, and St. Lucia for the company of telecommunication Digicel.
In 2017 Charlene started with Caines Interim Management Consultancy, where she guides and provides services of Human Resources, Administration, and training to various companies.
Charlene sees herself as a "People Manager," which signifies being a manager who is there to help and provide excellent service, which is a unique experience. Maintaining a good relationship with employees and giving people the space to develop their ideas is very important to establish an open road for communication. By being honest, respectful, and open to others, it becomes possible to achieve the goals of our organization and work in a pleasant work environment.
