Privacy Policy for Cigoff: Quit Smoking with Ease

Cigoff ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by Shyam. This Privacy Policy explains how the Cigoff mobile application handles information. By using Cigoff, you agree to the terms described below.

We built Cigoff with privacy as a core principle: the app works entirely on your device and does not send your personal data to us or to any third party.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

Cigoff does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide its core features, Cigoff stores the following information locally on your device only, using your device's standard secure storage (AsyncStorage):

• Your quit date and time

• Your progress and streak information

• Milestones you have reached or claimed

• Any preferences or settings you configure within the app

This information never leaves your device. We cannot access it. If you uninstall the app, this data is permanently deleted from your device.

3. Permissions We Request

Cigoff requests notification permission on both iOS and Android to deliver local reminders and progress updates.

On Android, the app additionally uses:

• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — to deliver reminders at the precise times you expect

• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to restore your scheduled reminders after your device restarts

• WAKE_LOCK — to allow reminders to appear reliably

All notifications are generated locally on your device. No notification content is sent through an external server.

4. Third-Party Services

Cigoff does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting services. Specifically, the app does not use:

• Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or any analytics SDK

• Advertising networks (AdMob, Facebook Ads, etc.)

• Crash reporting services (Sentry, Crashlytics, etc.)

• Social media SDKs

• Cloud backup of your personal data

5. Children's Privacy

Cigoff is intended for adult users who wish to quit smoking. It is not directed at children under the age of 13. Since the app does not collect any personal information, no data from children is knowingly collected.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all data stays on your device:

• You can clear all Cigoff data at any time by using your device's app settings ("Clear data" / "Clear storage")

• Uninstalling the app will permanently remove all data created by Cigoff from your device

• We have no copies of your data and cannot restore it

7. Security

Your information is stored using the standard secure storage mechanisms provided by your device's operating system. Since no data is transmitted over the internet by Cigoff, there is no risk of interception in transit from our side.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or for legal reasons. Any updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
