CIC is a Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) Project run by local students in the San Fernando Valley.
We originally came together over the similarity that we all have family parents who have gone through the Naturalization process and understand the tremendous value of becoming citizens. The road was tough for them, but they kept going to try to achieve better lives for themselves and their children, and now we want to give back to our community by helping other people who are trying to do the same.
We teach classes that provide information about the Naturalization process and conduct mock interviews to simulate the experience of going in to apply for citizenship. We also create kits and individual resources to help you study everything you need to know for the Naturalization Test.
The mission of CIC is to spread citizenship to all members of the SFV community. Citizenship gives people the opportunity to reach out for things that they normally wouldn’t be able to access, and immigrants comprise a significant portion of the population of the San Fernando Valley, so our mission is to help them secure the rights that all citizens of this community deserve. We all come from immigrant backgrounds and know that life can be difficult for immigrants in a new place, so we want to help ease that difficulty in whatever way we can, starting with basic freedoms.
