Guidelines

To reserve a book, comment "mine," "save," or "next" on the photo. Typos shall not be considered. 

The book is reserved for the person with the first valid comment. Bundled reservations made twenty-four hours after posting are prioritized over single-book reservations.

All our books unless otherwise stated are uploaded on Instagram. Books unsold after twenty-four hours are cross-posted on Facebook.

The buyer will be sent a private message requesting for their name and preferred delivery method, and asked to fill out the Gogo Express Delivery Form through Google Forms.

An invoice will be sent to the buyer after they have filled out the Gogo Express Delivery Form through Google Forms.

Payment for the book and the shipping fee must be done within one week from the date of invoice. 

Payment can only be done through BPI Deposit or G-Cash. Proof of payment must be presented before the book is considered sold. 

Strictly no cancellation of reservations or orders.

Orders are dispatched within two weeks after payment. We do not offer cash-on-delivery shipping arrangements. 

Shipping is fulfilled by Gogo Express Standard Delivery. 

Gogo Express deliveries are protected from losses worth up to Php 500 only. We shall not be responsible for any loss caused by Gogo Express. 

The shipping fee must be paid for together with the books. Prices can be viewed on the Gogo Express website (sender address is Makati, Metro Manila). 

The customer may opt for their own courier; however, in this case, we cannot guarantee the quality of the shipping service. 

Due to safety reasons, the customer may not pick up their order from our storage address, whether in person or by proxy. 

We reserve the right to refuse refunds in cases where the customer failed to receive the delivery package from the courier. 

The buyer may "pay and pile" their orders, as long as any outstanding balance has been fully paid within the agreed deadline. Orders may only be "piled" for one year (see Unclaimed Orders).

Claims for returns, exchanges, and refunds must be made within one week from the date the book was received, as determined by tracking information provided by the courier. Claims made after this period shall not be accepted. 

We only accept returns, exchanges, and refunds of new books with undisclosed blemishes, and of used books in cases where the actual condition deviates from the given condition by two levels (see Condition Guide). 

We shall arrange the delivery of the book to be returned through Gogo Express Rider Pick Up (for Greater Metro Manila customers) or LBC Express Rider Pick Up (for other customers). The customer shall inform us of the date on which the courier can pick up the book from their address. Please note that the courier can pick up the book at any time on the selected date. 

For exchanges, the replacement book shall be dispatched as soon as the returned book has arrived at our location. 

For refunds, the price of the book and, in cases where only one book was purchased, the shipping fee shall be refunded. The amount due shall be settled as soon as the returned book has arrived at out location. The amount due shall be settled through G-Cash or in-store credit.

BRAND NEW - never read; no blemishes unless otherwise disclosed; may or may not be sealed.

LIKE NEW - clean and intact pages; negligible wear to binding; near-mint condition, but may be remaindered.

VERY GOOD CONDITION (VGC) - pages may have minor markings but are otherwise clean; minor wear to binding; other notable characteristics are individually disclosed.

GOOD CONDITION (GC) - pages may have some markings but are otherwise clean; moderate wear to binding; other notable characteristics are individually disclosed.

ACCEPTABLE (OK) -  pages extensively marked; considerable wear to binding with possible liquid damage; other notable characteristics are individually disclosed.

Pre-orders are available to customers who are searching for specific titles. Please contact us through private message for inquiries. 

Persons eligible for pre-orders only include those who have purchased at least Php 3000 worth of items in the past year. 

The required down payment for special orders is 50% of the total value for orders below Php 900 and 75% of the total value for orders above Php 900. 

The maximum total value of special orders is Php 5000. 

The lead time for pre-orders is around three months but can take up to six months, with allowance for unexpected shipping delays. We reserve the right not to cancel pre-orders and issue refunds in cases where the lead time exceeds six months.

Pre-orders are opened at the end of a season of uploads and at the beginning of our hiatus; during our hiatus we become inactive online as we await our restock orders to arrive from abroad through ocean transit. As such, we will not be able to regularly respond to queries regarding the status of pre-orders.

In cases where the book is unexpectedly out-of-stock, we shall refund the deposited balance to the customer immediately.

Strictly no cancellation of pre-orders.

Orders which have been paid and piled for more than one year shall be considered forfeited by the buyer, and shall be made available to any other interested customer.

Buyers may claim their forfeited orders so long as it has not been sold to or reserved by other customers.

Persons who willingly cancel their reservations or fail to pay their balances by the agreed date shall be subject to non-monetary penalties for future orders.

Persons who have cancelled their reservation once will have all their comments on the next three uploads passed over in favor of the next valid comment. As such, the next valid comment shall be prioritized for reservation.

Persons who have cancelled their reservation twice shall be banned from the page for one month.

Persons who have cancelled their reservation thrice shall be banned from the page for one year.

Persons who have cancelled their reservation four times shall be banned from the page permanently.

An account that provides the same address as an account that has been penalized shall be considered as belonging to the same person. We reserve the right to refuse service to such accounts.

Customers' personal information is only accessible to the proprietors of Cicero & Co. Books and Letters and the customer's chosen courier.

The proprietors of Cicero & Co. Books and Letters  shall operate and hold any personal information under strict confidentiality.

We shall not share or disclose customers' personal information to any other third party unless required by law.

Any data security incident or breach that comes to the knowledge of Cicero & Co. Books and Letters will be recorded and reported as required by law. 

Customers may object to the processing of their personal information, request to access their personal information, and/or have it corrected on reasonable grounds.

As purveyors of texts, Cicero & Co. Books and Letters supports all individuals' right to freedom of speech, expression, and thought.

In fulfillment of our role as a space for free discourse, we do not support or endorse any political, social, or religious position, including those presented or suggested by any of our books. 

Customers who post, comment, or send messages that harm, threaten, or harass other persons, or who in any other way support or endorse hateful political, social, or religious causes, on our pages shall be permanently banned.

We reserve the right not to sell books or media containing adult and/or graphic content to customers who are underage.

We reserve the right to refuse service to customers who do not agree or abide with any of these ordering guidelines and policies.

Any person who reserves or orders from us through Facebook or Instagram is understood to have read, understood, and agreed to these ordering guidelines and policies.

We reserve the right to modify or change these ordering guidelines and policies without prior notice.
