About Us

CIBAALAS is an organization of laboratory animal focused individuals who are passionate about the health and welfare of research animals.   This organization was established in 1980 and serves as a local extension to the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).  Our purpose is to carry out the programs of AALAS at a local level.  Our members consist of laboratory animal staff from the Central Illinois region.

As a member of CIBAALAS you will have greater access to resources to further your involvement with laboratory animal medicine and welfare.  We will also have some fun while we’re at it! Becoming a member will help you grow relationships within the organization and provide opportunities to be involved with AALAS.  Access to educational opportunities, webinars, lunch n learns and fostered idea sharing.  All members have the ability to become officers, serve on the board of directors or chair a committee that helps further our mission.  You are under no obligation to do so, you can also choose to simply enjoy some fun.
