Article reaction 

In this article  Dr. B speaks about how much knowledge we lose during summer.  He talks about even if we are on summer break we should still be learning in some kind of way. Like communication skills, comprehension skills, and reading skill. What i learned from this article is that our knowledge foundation starts at 3rd grade. I also learn that we should never stop learning even if we don't go to school.


My reaction to the article was very surprising. I didn't realize how much knowledge we do lose from having two months off. I look backs on my own experience and Dr. B is right I've had a hard time coming back to school and just getting back into the routine. What I plan to do with the information from this article is to try and applied it this summer.  I would try to read at least 3 books or try to get into a productive routine to prepare me for school. 

Professional Dress Day 

I think it is necessary for people to learn how to dress professionally. It gives the people you are applying for a job, a sense of how you are as a person and what you can do for them. First impressions are everything when you are going into a job and dressing professionally will show that you know how to dress for an interview or going on your first day of work. A simples black and white will go along way to impress your future boss. The way I prepare for professional dress day is a simple white shirt, a black blazer, black slacks and black heels. I did my hair neatly and added a little accessories, like a necklace, bracelets, and a ring.


My reaction to dressing professionally was wow. I felt very confident. I was really impress with myself on how simple my outfit was but still made a very good impress. It made me know what to dress for am interview and going into my future first day of work. I'm glad that I had this experience to dress professionally because it didn't just give a sense of what to wear but also how to feel confident and feel good about myself and my outfit and that simples goes a long way.

"Service is not the same as Hospitality" by Anna Dolce 

I learn the differences between service and hospitality. No-one remembers good service but they remembers the hospitality we give them. Difference between services and hospitality is that services is a skill, something you can learn, hospitality is a sprit. Services is about delivering the needs and wants of a guest while hospitality anticipating the needs and wants our guest. Services can be given methodically while hospitality is totally dynamic.


My reaction to this video was I was very impressed. I didn't realize the difference, I thought it was the same. I was impressed on how the service industry is and how it is lacking. I was impressed on how much a difference can be made of we show traits from the hospitality industry. I think hospitality is one pf  the most important factor  in a successful business and service. 

Tie a tie 


In class we learn how to tie a tie. We got to watch a tutorial on how to tie it and then we got try it out ourselves. We also the learn the importance's of why we should use a tie.learning how to tie a tie is very importance because you can wear it everywhere. Its use as formal clothing and can be worn in job interviews to make you look more professional because first impressions' are everything.


My first time trying a tie I didn't get it right. I got lost towards the third to the last step. I think that tiering a tie is not easy and it will take a lot of practice to master it. My teacher had shown me what step I miss and then I got it. I would say that I need to watch the video a couple of more times to be able to do it on my own. Overall I think everyone at least try to to tie and tie and have a great experience out of it. 



Telephone skill 

There was so much I learned from this lesson. I learned how to properly answer the phone. I learned that you need to pick up the phone in two rings. I learned how important it is to answer the phone the right way. I learned that the way someone answer the phone is the first impression of that business. 


I was so surprise on how important it is to properly answer the phone. I didn't realizes how much answering the phone had a big impact on the business. That answering the phone was the first impression guest had on that business. I think its important to not rush the calls and try to assist the customer. Overall I enjoy learning about telephone skill and realize how important it is.

 My experience with calling hotels were very surprising. I didn't expect them to do very good, but I like being able to see the right way I should answer the phone. It gave me  examples of what I should be doing when a customer calls me.


Teen CERT (Community emergency response team)

I learn so much from teen cert.I learned fire safety and suppression, the different kind of fires, PPE( personal protective equipment) and how to use a fire extinguisher.I learned about terrorism,the different type of terrorism and how i can prepare for it.I learned about search and rescue and how the buddy system works, what to do when i need to do a search and rescue someone.I learn about the medical triage and treatment, how to check someone for injures,what to look for when checking someone.


I was honesty so surprise in what i was learning . I was so interested in what they were teaching and would recommend everyone during it. I loved the hands on active but just them explaining it was just as fun. My favorite one unit would be the medical triage and treatment. I found it the most interesting and it just held a lot of information that i enjoyed.
