New talent chxy aka Jesus Guerrero is set to break boundaries with their latest single “Watch Me”, an innovative blend of trap edm, jersey club, as well as techno. The single is releasing on the 4th of December through City College’s own Record Label, “SD Knights Records” as part of a compilation which Crafted with the high-energy spirit of a boiler-room setting in mind, this single aims to captivate the audience's attention on the dance floor.  This second release cements their signature sound, sculpted by a unique influence taste in music and a mission to bring underrepresented Latino voices to the forefront of the EDM community.

Despite coming from a transcontinental background, Jesus was raised in the Southeastern area of San Diego California, an experience which has shaped and cultivated his taste in music resulting in a blend of various sources of inspiration having a mark on his sound as an artist. His journey started at a young age after being exposed to the EDM scene through videos of festival performances from artists such as Skrillex and Martin Garrix. This served as the spark which lead him to discover and become a fan of genres such as bass house, melodic dubstep, tearout dubstep and finally, trap EDM. This experience built the foundation for his unique sound. Throughout the whole process, he was improving his production skills and experimenting with different blends of genres and musical styles which eventually cemented his signature sound. Although he felt his earlier work was lacking in quality, he has since then developed the confidence and ability to pursue his passion of creating high-quality music that feels unique to him.

The single titled “Watch Me” is chxy’s second release through San Diego City College’s student run record label, SD Knights Records. It is the opening track to “Sounds of City Vol. II: Knight School” a compilation of music created by students that attend City College, and serves heavy bass and high energy right out the gate. The song ebbs and flows throughout the different genres that shaped Jesus’ sound throughout his production journey by containing elements of Trap EDM, Jersey Club and Techno. The song’s arrangement is structured in such a way that it’s difficult for the listener to get bored, as each section is able to shine on its own while contributing to the piece as a whole. The single is set to release on the 4th of December through SD Knights Records, and serves as another milestone in chxy’s journey, further cementing his place in the San Diego EDM space.
