CHWM's fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30, as required by state law.
Snow removal- our neighborhood is required to arrange and pay for snow removal and road treatment for inclement weather (sand, salt, etc.). Otherwise, our streets will not be plowed. Currently, our plowing contract is "pay as you go." We pay per snow event, and the cost increases with the amount of snow. In a year with heavy snowfall, our snow removal expenses will be greater than in a year with less snow.
Landscaping- our neighborhood has two entrances from Possum Park Road. The cost of maintaining the landscaping at these entrances is the responsibility of the civic association.

We have begun utilizing Zeffy for electronic payments and membership management. You can make an online payment HERE!
We decided to utilize Zeffy for several reasons, including cost (it's free), membership management and tracking features, convenience, allowing recurring yearly payments for dues, and more.
There are a multitude of issues with using Venmo, such that we have decided that it is not feasible at this time. Some of the reasons include:
Venmo does not currently supporting accounts for non-profits that are not 501c(3) charitable organizations, like the CHWM Civic Association.
Even if the above weren't an issue, there is no way to transfer ownership of an account to new board members when they take office. The account has to be deleted and then recreated by the new board.
There are significant vulnerabilities and security concerns with Venmo that make it less than ideal for our purposes.
We continue to work on getting these issues resolved to allow more opportunities that for convenient payments.
