Hi, there! / こんにちは / Hallo / 你好 / lí-hó
My name is Chuyu Huang (黃竹佑, also written as 黄竹佑) and it can be pronounced in different ways depending on the language being used. In Taiwanese Southern Min, it is pronounced as Tik-iu Ng, in Mandarin it is pronounced as Chuyu Huang, and in Japanese it is pronounced as Chikuyu Ko. I was born in the beautiful small town of Lukang in central Taiwan and am currently based in Nagoya.
I have a particular interest in prosody and its interaction with morphological structure. My work primarily focuses on the perception and production of prosody in various linguistic processes across different languages.
I conduct experiments on speech perception, production, and event-related potentials (ERPs) to study prosody. I also teach linguistics, phonetics, Japanese pedagogy, and language classes.
I enjoy challenging myself with new experiences and solving problems. I also enjoy photography, jogging, and traveling. I had the opportunity to visit many places while I was an exchange student in Germany. I also enjoy learning new languages and communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds.
