Welcome to Church College Pesega
A special training or gathering is done every year for the TVET trainers/supervisors in our school, to personally meet with the representatives of different companies of which the school is allied with or in partnership with to discuss some of the issues of the graduated students of Pesega who took these different fields during their trainings in school. These students graduate and have the privilege to be employed in these different companies. All these different departments (Carpentry, Automotive, Food & Textile and Tourism) serve a great goal in mind and that is to achieve the SQA Level One Certificate, which can ease the student’s efforts to scavenge for a job in the future.
Each training articulates its commitment to being a provider of Vocational Training to meet the human resource needs of the country. These programs and qualifications will provide a significant commencement of specialization within each four fields for Yr.12 and 13 students. All these preparations and goals of these discussions meets the teacher’s high intentions of investigating the errors of the previous/graduated students or at least some slight errors, to work on it and redevelop a new idea of improving more on these feedbacks shared by the representatives, to decrease the bad news given back to the school and escalate the level of great news as feedbacks from these representatives.
In terms of better preparations and better improvements comes from the needs of this gathering to greatly prepare the next patch of students who will be employed to these companies if successful.
I had a golden opportunity to join the Carpentry’s department for their discussions of some of the feedbacks from the company’s representatives. I got to meet Daniel Craig from the Craig’s Industries and Dave Perriman, a manager of the Joinery/Furnitures Factories at Bluebird Lumbers Industries. These two advisors each had the time to understand and observe the efforts of the Pesega students in the workshops. This is where we receive the reports of the graduated students.
