The Family Tree app gives access to the Tree part of Family Search (also available on the web).
The Family Memories App focuses on reading stories, looking at pictures, and opening documents pertaining to specific ancestors. You can also add your own (also available on the web.)
Get Involved only includes the Quick Name Review activity, but it is great for serving on the go and in your free time. (also available on the web.)
Family Tree
Upon opening the Family Search Website or Tree App, Tap the "Tree" tab to see your ancestral lines. You can follow them generations back.
This is the Details Page. You will find most of the basic details on this page, such as Name, Dates (of birth, death, etc), Sex, and other vitals.
If you want to learn more about someone on your family tree, just click their name! Here you will find all available information on that person. Lets look at the most helpful tabs!
The Memories tab will include neat stories, pictures, and written entries about your ancestor and his or her life, as well as those of her family members. If you knew your family member, or have information on them, you can add your memories to their story! Make sure to be relavent, positive, and uplifting in your posts.
The Time Line tab combines times and locations to give you a list of events ranging from the begining of their lives to the end. It includes both their own life events and historical events, and shows a map pinpointing the location of each affair.
The Ordinances tab will give you a full list of their completed or incomplete ordinances. If an ordinance is incomplete, and the relative has passed away, you may complete the oridinance on behalf of them in the Lord's Holy Temple.

Get Involved (Web)
Quick Name Review
Quick Name Review is the only currently available indexing project on the Get Involved App. It is also available on the Family Search Website. Quick Name Reviews include a few simple steps:
Find names - You can look for specific names, or be automatically assigned a set of 5 to 50 names.
Read the name - the system will highlight a name and provide it's 'guess' for what the name says. Verify if it is a name. If no, select 'not a name' on the right bottom and move on to the next name.
Compare - If it is a name, compare the handwritten or documented name with the computer provided guess. If it is a match, select the green checkmark and move to the next name
Edit - If it is not a match, see if you can determine what the name says. Do not assume typos in the original document, and type names as they are written. To edit a name, select the red pencil icon, and then click the textbox. If you are unsure, click the blue arrow.
EXAMPLE 1
The handwritten sample to the left reads "Myers", but the interface read it as "Miles". To correct this, select the Edit Button (red pencil), click the text box, and type the correct name. Then submit.
EXAMPLE 2
In this example, the interface selected a word that was not a name. Do not correct the bot by matching the textbox contents to the document. Instead, select 'not a name', and move to the next review.
Full Name Review
Full Name Review is only available on the Family Search Website. The steps are similar, but involve the name as a whole.
Find names - You can look for specific names, or be automatically assigned a set of 5 to 50 names.
Answer question - The site will ask if the entire name is highlighted. If it is, continue. If it is not, indicate so and highlight the entire name.
Edit - Check for mistakes, such as assigning the wrong name to the wrong catagory (ie. Jim as a surname, or Smith as a first name), or misspellings. Again, do not assume typos in the original document, and type names as they are written.
Indexing Review
Unfortunatly, Family Search is moving away from traditional indexing. Due to this transition, there are rarely any indexing review options for english speaking countries.
That said, if you are fluent in Spanish or Portugese, there are many options for Indexing in this catagory.
Each indexing project is a bit more advanced than name reviews, and have their own instructions. You will need to thoroughly read through the directions for each project.
I don't recomend this for begginers.
Verify Places
The last indexing activity involves verifiying locations of important life events, such as births, deaths, burials, and residencies. When participating, it is advised you index in places you are more familiar with. Here are some tips for sucessfully completing this activity.
Yellow - This includes the name and sex of the ancestor, the birth and death years, and the unique code assigned to each person.
Orange - This is the place you will focus on. This information was not written by a bot or artificial intelligence, so do not make assumptions about misspelled or written information.
Blue - This includes other events in the person's life, and where and when they occured. Use them to better understand where this person lived.
Red - If the event does not include a place (town, county, country, etc), then select this "Not a Place" button.
Purple - The unverified place, retyped
Green - The interface will automatically make a search based on the keywords. You may need to alter the search if you cannot find a correct match
Black - The search results will try to find your unverified location. Remember that over the years, location names and territories change. The first option was incorrect because the person, Mary Ramsey, was not alive in 1974 and could not have been born in a neighborhood created then. Once you have eliminated the obviously incorrect options, it may be tricky. If you are unsure, skip the location. You may use resources outside of the website to conduct research on names and locations.
Once you are confident you have the right place, select the most accurate and SPECIFIC option. In this case, the addition of 'Neighborhood or suburb' and the year range make the third option the best and most accurate.
