Students with no or limited Mandarin Chinese language skills are welcome to join our mixed-age classes on Wednesday and Saturday. In these classes, students will learn Chinese pronunciations (known as 'Pinyin'), radical characters, tones, and writing skills. They will engage in project-based learning experiences, applying their acquired knowledge to activities such as creating their own board games, and reading well-known children's books like "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" in Mandarin Chinese, and more.
In the advanced class, only Mandarin Chinese is spoken. Students will gain a deeper understanding of Chinese grammar, character writing, history, and expand their vocabulary for reading comprehension. They will apply their knowledge by creating games or tasks individually or in collaboration with peers.
