I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Parasitology, College of Medicine, Chungbuk National University, and the principal investigator of the Translational Infection Biology Laboratory (TIB Lab). My research interests lie broadly in infection biology and translational research, with a particular focus on host–pathogen interactions, molecular mechanisms of infection, and the discovery of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

I am especially interested in integrating experimental infection biology with drug screening, molecular and structural analyses, and computational approaches to understand how pathogens establish infection and to identify potential therapeutic targets. Our current research uses medically important pathogenic protozoa, including Naegleria fowleri and Acanthamoeba, as major experimental models, while our broader goal is to develop approaches that can be applied across infectious diseases.
