When the idea of speaking to people might not be everyone’s cup of tea, the TedEd clubs helps students come up with a unique idea and be comfortable with talking and sharing in front of many peers.
Shana Sabourin is the sponsor of the Academic Research Club, better known as the TedEd Club and she has already started getting her students thinking about what they want to share with the world.
The overall goal of this club is to record a video that can be posted on the TedEd YouTube channel.
In the next few weeks, the students will work on delivery with Sabourin come up with a main idea, come up with how they want to say what they want to share, and be comfortable with feedback from other peers,
“I joined so I can get better at speaking in front of large groups— I get nervous and start to fidget with things and lose track of what I try to say,” said Kayden Matthews ’25.
Matthews loves to spread her different ideas to the masses but can’t always get them out the way she formulated them in her head. By joining this club, she wants to work on making her ideas pop.
Many participants of this club want a couple of things to change with their public speaking; getting their point across in a way that the youth of today can relate to, finding something that they want to dive deeper into, and be comfortable presenting to the public.
In the coming weeks, the TedEd club will work on finding information on their topics and how it impacts their world around
