With senior year approaching, and the festivities starting, Senior Sunrise is like no other. Hanging with friends and soaking in the rising sun is a fantastic way to end the first week of senior year.
Kayden Matthews attended this year senior sunrise and had a blast. “The music was cool, but it was cold, and I should have brought another blanket” Matthews said. Whether attendees listened to music, decorated crowns, talked with friends, or watched the sun rise, there was much to do. Matthews brung up that she never thought it would be this cool to sit outside and be early to school. “There was this one girl taking pictures with a polaroid and I though it was really Y2K and that’s the vibe I want this year,” Matthews said. As of last year, the idea of having a retro type of senior year had been floating around the internet.
Another senior who attended the sunrise, Conner Anderson said, “It was all right, I had talked to my friends, and they had donuts which was cool.” Anderson said that the sponsors hoped to negotiate a half off Dunkin Donuts deal, but it did not get approved in time. Anderson went to the sunrise because of his friends, and they all had spent time together on various “islands” of blankets. He had an exciting time and met some new people.
Vanessa Arthur joined her close friends and her brother. “At first I didn’t want to go since it was so early but I’m happy I ain’t stay at home,” said Arthur. She spent time talking about her final first week in school and took some pictures and posted them.
“Most people had on nice outfits but there were some (people) with pajamas on,” Arthur observed. The fashion worn at the sunrise reflected the mood of the day as well as the week.
Nonetheless, the people present were there to have fun and soak in the calm morning before getting back to their regularly schedule activities.
