Fall Sports teams this year boast a number of atheletes from the Class of 2028. Among them are Jackson Chandler and Sienna Mitchell.
Chandler, a “tweener,” plays in both the Junior Varsity and Varsity games. Colgan’s Football coach Reggie Scott spoke to Chandler while he played for Saunders Middle School.
“He wanted us to make sure that we kept our grades up and stayed out of trouble,” Chandler said of their initial conversations.
Chandler, standing at 5’11, has been playing football since he was a child. During that time, he would also practice with his brothers. Chandler has played on his middle school team, 7-on-7 teams during the summer, as well as with his friends during his free time.
“This school year is going to be a [win] for sure,” Chandler predicted of his season.
Mitchell, standing at 5’10, has played volleyball since she was child. Mitchell has always had a passion for being a household name. No matter what obstacles have arisen, she has taken charge and does what she has to do.
“Having the experience I got at the Colgan camp was great and helped me get used to the high school wave,” Mitchell said.
According to Max Preps, the Varsity team is enjoying a strong season, with a 7-0 record going into October. The team is number one in the Cardinal District standings and is ranked 37th in the state.
Mitchell plans to play until her senior year and is already looking at different colleges to attend. after high school.
