The Night of Jazz is an annual fundraiser, supporting both the CHS Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab. Funds raised are used to expand students' knowledge in the unique genre of jazz and for travel expenses to attend multiple area jazz contests. Every year Jazz Ensemble students enjoy a trip to such amazing places as Kansas City, St Louis, or Chicago, where students can be immersed in the rich heritage of jazz.

This year, these students were able to experience the opportunity to perform at the 2025 World Strides Performing Arts Heritage Festival in Chicago. They were able to enjoy some sightseeing, listen to live jazz performed by professionals, receive instruction at a training clinic, and bring home both a 2nd Place Silver Award for Jazz Ensembles and a Spirit Award for their enthusiasm and hard work ethic.

Under the direction of Chad Lippincott and Dr Alex Casselman, students at St Joseph Central High School have the opportunity to be instructed in the many styles of jazz music. These talented directors instill a great love of jazz in the students through their personal dedication and enthusiasm.
