Cascade Theatre Department
Showcase is coming soon! Auditions are on the 24th & 25th. Auditions will be in the auditorium after school for a high school showcase that will give Cascade creatives an opportunity to shine. This is not your middle school talent show and will be held on a Friday night in May. If you haven't had a chance to participate in a show, this might be the perfect opportunity: only two weeks of rehearsal and Act 1 & 2 will have alternating rehearsal nights. Whether you sing, dance, play an instrument, are in a band, are an actor, a poet, a writer of short stories, or something amazing that's not included here, come prepared to audition on April 24th or 25th (those auditioning do not need to be there for both days). We will also be featuring the visual arts with photos of featured pieces from the art department, and would be happy to include other programs in this format. Please do not audition pieces that you will already be featuring at an end of year concert or that you have already performed for a talent show in the past. We want this to be an exciting show, and we’d love to close out the night with a live band.
Welcome!
Cascade Theatre Department is excited to bring our 2024-2025 season to our school and local communities! Our theatre houses many different events for local schools and the community, including plays, band and choir concerts, club and class meetings of all variety, nearly all student award ceremonies, and much, much more. The theatre is a community space, and we strive to make it a space where all will feel welcome. Please, take a moment to get to know a little bit about us.
ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1) You do NOT have to be in club or a class to audition for shows. In case you're interested, Drama Club meetings are on late start Wednesdays at lunch in the auditorium shop.
2) You do NOT have to be in club or a class to compete at Thespian events OR attend fieldtrips (while we have a place to prepare Regional Acting Competition pieces in Acting 2, where students will have built-in time to practice and multiple opportunities for feedback, the class is not a requirement to be able to compete). In addtion, just because students in Acting 2 (Winter tri) will prepare pieces that fit competition parameters, this does not mean students in Acting 2 (Winter tri) will be required to compete.
3) While students can attend State Acting Competition without competing, this is not the case with Instafest or Regional Acting Competition (where if you're not competing, you don't go).
