Requirements & Eligibility
The World Languages honor societies recognize students that demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the study of a World Language and show a genuine interest in the culture and people of the target language. The World Languages Honor Society induction will take place in the fall. It is expected that all inductees will continue their World Languages studies through the school year. Please see the specific requirements for each language below.
French candidates must:
be enrolled in a French course at the time of induction.
be an 11th or 12th-grade student who has completed a level 2 or Progressive course.
have maintained a cumulative French average of 90 over three consecutive semesters prior to induction.
have maintained an overall average of 80% or above.
Note: It is expected that inductees will continue their World Language studies through the school year.
Italian candidates must:
be enrolled in an Italian class at the time of induction.
be an 11th or 12th-grade student who has completed a level 2 or Progressive course.
have maintained a cumulative Italian average of 90 over three consecutive semesters prior to induction.
have maintained an overall average of 80% or above.

Mandarin Candidates must:
be enrolled in a Mandarin class at the time of induction.
be an 11th or 12th-grade student who has completed a level 2 course.
have maintained a cumulative Mandarin average of 85 over three consecutive semesters prior to induction.
have maintained an overall average of 80% or above.
Note: It is expected that inductees will continue their World Language studies through the school year.
Spanish candidates must:
be enrolled in a Spanish class at the time of induction.
be an 11th or 12th-grade student who has completed a level 2 course.
have maintained a cumulative Spanish average of 90 over three consecutive semesters prior to induction.
have maintained an overall average of 80% or above.
