Bringing food for breakfasts and snacks and then buying lunch and dinner is a good way to save some money and eliminate the hassle of having to plan and pack every meal.

1___________________ In order to Instagram your favorite photos and stay in touch with friends at the festival, you need to keep your smartphone powered up. One option is to charge your phone and other electronics using a car charger, but if you go this route, be sure you have a set of jumper cables with you in case you drain your car battery.

2___________ Festivals can draw tens of thousands of people, so be prepared for traffic jams and long waits as you near the festival grounds and try to find a parking spot. Remember that everyone is after the same thing: a fun weekend with good friends and great music. Keep your gas tank above half full, take a deep breath and tell yourself your journey is your destination.

3________________ Blankets and low-back camp chairs are great for getting comfortable inside the concert grounds. Many festivals have restrictions on the height of chairs allowed into the concert, so be sure to check the festival website for information. Shop our selection of camp chairs.

4______________ Drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day. A backpack with a water reservoir is a great way to stay hydrated while you cruise around the festival and get down to the music. Most festivals will allow you to bring an empty water bottle or reservoir into the music venue so you can fill it up. Check the festival website to be sure. We finally faced our fears and decided to attend Electric Forest this year. We knew we had to camp, that would be half the experience. We immediately crossed out the possibility of driving all the way there (30 plus hours in a car one way, no thanks) and decided to book flights. A lot of stress and anxiety went into figuring out how to fly with our camping gear, so hopefully with this post we can save you from some of that.

Quiet Hours are strictly enforced on Festival Campgrounds, in an effort to be courteous and respectful to your fellow Campers. (The festival may change these hours for official festival events in the campground without notice.)

Outside packages are not allowed to be dropped-off and/or picked-up in the campground area. Any delivery will be turned away and persons attempting to receive delivery may be subject to removal by festival security staff.

Canopy

If there is anything on this list of Must Have Items that you buy, its absolutely should be a 1010 5____________ canopy. Canopies are a must buy item for any Camping music festival. They are more expensive but consider it a good investment in your weekend. Any canopy is better then no canopy BUT the 1010 slant leg canopies are only 88 at the top so they only cover 64 sq. ft. of your site with shade whereas the 1010 straight leg canopies are 1010 at bottom & top and are 100 sq. ft. of shade. It definitely makes a difference too! Less moving stuff around to keep it in the shade, more open space covered and more shade over your tent or hammock area!

IF you are going to fly I highly recommend seeing if you can find a Walmart close to the festival. I preordered camping gear for Electric Forest so it was ready for pickup when we got there. This was also made easy by renting a car to house all our stuff as well.

When I went to Coachella I fit everything I needed in duffel for the weekend then brought a sleeping bag and pillow. I camped with a huge group so we packed all of our cars with everything we needed. Fingers crossed you have a car with a lot of space to fit your stuff, food, and camping supplies.

The Fields of New Market has a shuttle available to take you to the festival and back again. Prices are $5 and $8 and the shuttle runs from 8am-10pm. After Hours or VIP service, please call 888-783-8100. Pickup times are about every 15 minutes.

Stokesville Campground (464 Stokesville Rd, Mount Solon, VA) Located just four miles away from the festival, Stokesville offers spectacular views, lots of room to spread out and exclusive use of the Stokesville Bridge swimming hole. This mountain edge campground also includes amazing hiking and mountain biking trails. Note: This year Stokesville will be privately run by Stokesville Campground and Lodge and will not be providing a shuttle service to the festival.

6____________ Inappropriate behavior on the part of any one in attendance will not be tolerated. Any incidents requiring investigation by Historic Rural Hill / NCBMF staff and/or local law enforcement could result in expulsion from the camping area and Historic Rural Hill without refund of fees. The use of illegal substances or the consumption of hard liquor is not allowed and will be dealt with accordingly.

Ice will be available on the festival grounds at $3.00 per 8-pound bag. You will be responsible for its transport from the festival grounds to the campground. To purchase ice, ask for Eric Ferguson, campground manager.

So do we, and most of us will be camping with you. We know this is a beer and music festival, but please, no yelling / singing, no instrument playing, loud radios, or televisions after 12 a.m. on Friday or Saturday night.

Below you can select from a range of camping options and experience the unmatched energy of living amongst your fellow Headbangers. GA Car Camping is by far the most popular option, but there are a wide range of other options, too. Talk to your group about the best situation for everyone! Take note that some campsites have capacity limits which are detailed below.

This is the 7________ camping option. The WE Fest Glamping Village is located in the Lake Sallie campground with easy access to the festival West Gate entrance. Your Glamp-Camp tent is a sturdy canvas bell tent complete with campsite setup and breakdown service. The Glamping Village amenities include; dedicated porta potties, adjacent parking, shaded lounge tent, supply store, and 24/7 camp coordinator.

Firearms, weapons and ammunition of any kind are STRICTLY prohibited everywhere at Soo Pass Ranch including all campgrounds, the Ranch House, and concert areas. Security personnel, metal detectors, and detection dogs will be active on the grounds, combined with thorough searches of patrons and their vehicles. Any infraction will involve Law Enforcement and removal from the festival without a refund.

There are some spots that will make things easier, but no spots are bad at a camping festival! Look for camping spots that are close enough to resources like food or water, or the entrance to the festival itself so you can minimize how much extra walking you need to do. It's also a good idea to look for shade, which brings us to our next question:

Look for camping spots that are under trees or shade, because that will keep you cool as much as possible. You can also look for shade structures that will obstruct the morning or afternoon sun, making it easier to sleep in or stay cool in the afternoon. Get some extra ice for your water bottles, and bring cold towels to stick in ice water throughout the day that you can put on the back of your neck to stay cool.

Typically a 4 day festival held every summer, this year the festival was postponed until 2022, leaving you plenty of time to plan & prepare! Make sure to check out the official Electric Forest website as well as other sources (YouTube is always my go-to when it comes to festival prep because you get some really honest first hand accounts!) to make sure you cover all of your bases!
