1. Overview
ChronoMind ("the App") is developed by Mainstay Labs. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains clearly what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
The App is designed to be privacy-first. It does not require an account, login, or any personal information to function. All data stays locally on your device.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
The App collects absolutely NO personal data and transmits NO information to any server, third party, or developer. Specifically:
• No name, email, phone number, or location is collected.
• No analytics SDK or tracking library is embedded in the App.
• No advertising ID or device fingerprint is accessed.
• No camera, microphone, or contacts permission is requested.
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
To remember your preferences between sessions, the App stores configuration data locally on your device using Android's Room database and DataStore preferences. This includes:
• Your custom activity profiles (names, custom colors, selected icons, and target durations).
• Your tracking session logs, focus history, and calculated streak details.
• Onboarding selections (accountability type, check-in style, streak behavior, and local username).
• Notification preferences and customized daily reminder times.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. We do not retain any user data on external servers.
To delete all data associated with the App, simply clear the App's data in your Android system settings or uninstall the App entirely. Doing so will permanently erase all your saved activities, history, and goals.
5. Permissions
The App requests only the strictly necessary Android permissions to function:
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to display active focus timer progress and local alerts.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC: Required to reliably synchronize, log, and back up your local session progress, focus history, and database operations in the background without the OS terminating the process.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Required to reschedule your local reminders automatically after your device restarts.
6. Third-Party Services
The App itself does not integrate any third-party analytics tools, advertising networks, or crash reporting services.
However, the App is distributed via the Google Play Store, which relies on Google Play Services. Google's platform may collect basic usage data, install counts, and crash reports as part of the Android operating system. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and is outside the developer's control.
7. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy requirements.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes in the future, the updated version will be published at your Google Sites Privacy URL. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
