Brent Hinds
(William Brent Hinds), motorcycle accident. He was 51. Hinds was a co-founder and the guitarist for Mastodon. While riding his motorcycle, an SUV failed to yield at an intersection and struck the musician. Mastodon, a heavy metal band, won Best International Metal Album in 2009 for Crack the Skye, and the band was nominated for six Grammy Awards, winning in 2018 for Best Metal Performance (for "Sultan's Curse"). Sam Rivers
(Samuel Robert Rivers), cause of death not disclosed; he was 48. Rivers was a founding member and the bassist for nu metal group, Limp Bizkit. Brad Arnold
(Bradley Kirk Arnold), clear cell renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer). He was 47. Arnold was the front man for Three Doors Down, who scored several hits in the early 2000s, including the ubiquitous "Kryptonite," "Loser," and "When I'm Gone".
Greg Brown
"a brief illness". He was 56. Brown was a co-founder and the original guitarist for alternative group, Cake. He wrote their biggest hit, 1996's "The Distance". Other hits include "Never There" and "Sick of You".
