Erin Knutson, Ph.D.
Erin Knutson earned a B.A. in physics from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2015, with a minor in mathematics. During college, she worked as a researcher in an atomic cooling and trapping laboratory at the Patuxent River Naval Air Force base. She enrolled at Tulane University to pursue a Ph.D. in physics under advisor Dr. Ryan T. Glasser. Her Ph.D. research centered on nonlinear and quantum optics, specifically the generation of multimode squeezed light using four-wave mixing in atomic vapor, as well as the application of orbital angular momentum of light to machine learning-based optical communications schemes. Erin was awarded a National Science Foundation graduate fellowship in 2017 and defended her thesis in June 2020. She joined the Weber lab in Sept. 2020.
Starting in summer of 2021, Erin works as an editor for Physical Review A.
Manita Rai, Ph.D.
In July 2022 Mania Rai joined the Weber group as a postdoctoral researcher. Manita earned her Ph.D. from Temple University in the group of Darius Torchinsky. While in the Weber group she has worked on surface X-ray diffraction measurements of topological semimetals, pump-probe and transient-grating measurements of coherent phonons, and time-resolved circular dichroism.
Starting in January 2025 she is a postdoc in the group of Anatoly Zayats at King's College London.
