80th Anniversary Celebration Memories

It’s hard to believe that, after months of planning and work, our 80th Anniversary is now a memory. But what a wonderful memory it is! So many people worked so hard together to make it a special and wonderful day. To say “Thank You” to all who helped is not enough!

There were some people who gave huge amounts of time and energy to make this event happen. John Fox made the wonderful video that allows us to look back at the last 80 years of memories in the comfort of home. John Nakata and his team spent countless hours working to make sure everyone could see and hear the presentations. Emi Inouye, Mitzi Bering, and their team of talented ladies decorated both t he church sanctuary and the Veteran’s Community Center beautifully. Yoshiko Rogers, Judy Deguchi, and the Japanese musical group they belong to provided us with wonderful musical entertainment. Al and Sue Hyosaka and Henry Shimomi worked long and hard to make sure that the narthex was freshly painted. Merv Thomas and his team of barbecuers fed us royally. George Yoshitake generously donated his photographic skills to take a wonderful portrait of attendees. Archie and Joyce Ibardalosa gave of their time and talents to video record the day, and the people involved. I could go on and on… Each of you helped, whether by working to prepare the church, helping to organize the service, provide funds to make everything possible, or most importantly, by uplifting us with your prayers.

To each and every one of you, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything!

Kay Moreland and Margaret Lau

1 Corinthians 1:4 I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. (NIV)
